Missing Something

I am comfortable here. The room is big enough for a single person, and it has everything a bedroom and study room should have. Moreover there is a huge window, providing a nice view of the city and also letting the fresh air and sun come directly in.

Sometimes I use the study table, and sometimes I study on bed. Sometimes I look out through the window and sometimes I just stand in front of the mirror. Something is missing, I know something is definitely missing.....

I am missing my friend's room
I am missing the rooms where I can just walk in
and sit or lie down, as if it is mine!

I am missing the room no 261,
where I can knock and shout 'flying robot, flying robot'.

I am missing the room no 257,
where I can bang open the door, utter few slangs, and ask for a fag,
only to hear an immediate refusal.

I am missing the room no 248 and 239,
which is always locked, either from inside or outside.

I am missing the room no 222,
where I can hear the sound of FRIENDS soap everytime I pass by.

I am missing the room no 223,
where I can go, tease, and then ask doubts.

I am missing the room no 224,225,228 ,
where I can go and plan a 'daru party'.

I am missing room no 229,
on whose door I can kick as hard as I could,
only to hear the angry shout of the friend inside,
or to see his angry face turning into a smiling one.

I am missing room no 339,
where I get new things to eat,
where I can knock before going to any class,
where I can complete all my reports,
and where I can gossip even during exams.

I am missing the room no 342,
where I can peek in , to see what's he doing.

And what I am missing most is the room no 205,
where I can talk hours on phone,
where I can lie down and listen to a song,
where I can fag watching a movie,
where I can connect to myself,
and where I have spent the last 3 years of my life !

My 'Grown Up' College

The “Grown Up” Campus

Well I am back to blogging (not so certain tough), and while I was out of it, I observed my campus closely. How she was then, and how she is now! She has grown up, and developed in all the dimensions. Look out the irony here, the campus is being assumed to have life, she was born a year before I became a part of her. And now when she is four plus , she has already entered the teenage group. She has become bolder, careless, fun filled, addicted to unhealthy habits, independent and obviously she has started feeling the teenage peer pressure, specially the sexual desires !

When she was a baby, she was so cute, so innocent, I liked her. She was calm, quiet, peaceful and beautiful. There were few innocent lovers, love proposals, and so many unconditional friendships were born. Everything was perfect. But unfortunately you can’t be a cute baby forever, you have to grow up, and when you grow up, you give away your innocence.

Now when she’s on the verge of becoming five years old, she has lost her virginity! Lots of cases and gossips float around, “kaun (who) ? kahan (where) ? kab (when) ?” The same question, but with different answers.. ”guest house ke peechey (behind the guest house), Mr Ick and Miss Usy, last night”… “LT ke peechey….guard caught them..” . The point here is not letting you know who all did sex here and when and where and how ! I am just expressing that she has grown up and well she has grown up pretty fast. She don’t even think whether its right or not , to publically display affection !

Very few used to fag then. If someone get to know that a boy fags, it was a big deal..”wo cigarette pita hai (he smokes).hauwww !!”. And the famous Jhopdi (only shop in our campus which sells cigarette) was a 'no students land' back then. Students looked down upon teachers who visited that place. And now, almost 25% of the male students can be seen and heard there.. “ 4 double omelet without bun and one lights” .. “ek double half fry palti maar ke and ek gold flake chota” . Even some of the female, mostly the girlfriends can be seen around!

Really, when you think of then, and when you see now, you feel different. A strange smile or expression comes, as if you knew this was going to come, come so soon. And you are no daddy, so you don’t care if she turns out to be a bitch or a responsible young girl. You know , you have to leave her, you can’t be with her always. Only thing you can do is too watch her, without forgetting that you are also a part of her.

PS: I had one beer today and this is also my last semester with half of my friends.

elements of life

There are somethings, which we always remember. And it's not always necessary that it's something big, say - your girlfriend's B'day or may be how you proposed her on Valentines day or may be your first day in college or any such BIG things! Sometimes you also remember, small incidents for long or may be forever, and you yourself don't know, what makes them so special!

Yesterday, I was watching Omkara, and I remembered that I had won a bet of Rs. 50 with a friend, on the point that Nassuridin Shah is also there in the movie.

I have almost written all the memorable incidents of my college, which I will never forget (and if I do, I will read my blog). But here are some small ones, which were not so big, but ya I still remember!

Once on dandiya night, me and Pranjal, emptied the vodka bottle, which Ashok had been preserving in his room for long, so that he could drink it that night; and we replaced it with water, that too from wash basin (we were in a hurry). That night he had little doubt, and he came to know somehow, and when we went to his room, he was so angry, he opened the door and threw the bottle down so forcefully, that it broke down into several million pieces! Oh my God, I could have lost my toe !
And next morning he was cool :
me : "gussa toh thik tha...per bhai..pair kat jaati toh...bottle itni zor se pheka, pagal hai kya tu ??!! "
ashok : "mujhe pata tha..tabhi side mein pheka!! hehehe"
But ofcourse he was lying.

When Bhamri shouted at me, and said he will throw all the stuff he was cooking on my face, because I was teasing him in the name of 'the girl' .It was so unexpected. And ofcourse he don't remember this, but I do :)

When I smoked for the first time, with Pranjal, lying on the isolated street in our campus, and facing the sky! It was so cool uncool :)

When 'she' came to me and talked for the first time !

When 'she' (this 'she' is different from the above 'she') sent me a friend request;orkut :)

When 'she' (this 'she' is again different from the above 'she') sent me a friend request;orkut :) I didn't recognize her at first, but ya, now, I know her even better than I know me :) or i think so ! And all the moments which we....... oh leave it , its personal ;)

Little fight with Ashok, because he played notoriously with my orkut account.

I gifted a 5Rs jumping green platic frog with velvet coating to my friend Lokeshwar ! turning the key made it hopp :)

Me , Bhamri , and Jazzy went to the isolated place, just behind to our campus, to see the little pond, which we later came to know was because of sewage water of our campus! The pond was really big !

And, when Kushal, Bhamri and Me, jumped over our campus boundary to go to the river, and how Kushal was unable to climb up the small boundary wall!

I was leaving for home, and I had some beer bottles to throw, I kept it in a polythene bag, and thought I will throw it , once I am outside the campus. I put my my entry in the register at the security gate, took my suitcase, and was on my way to station! And phew, the bottle bag, I left it at the security gate. Fuck!! Ok relax, chill, my name was not printed on that bag, and there were so many people checking out then !!! So .. which bag ?? I don't know, It wasn't mine ! :)

Of course there are many more things, and you remember them at some point or the other, like when you watch Omkara, you remember 'the bet' and when you have an open book test, you remember your friend, who took a different book in the exam, because both were red in color and looked similar! And what more, even he searched for the answers in that book, till he realized that, Oh God..what a shit !

May be these incidents (big/small - pleasant/unpleasant) are the elements of life, who knows !

huh...who's better ?

Seniors had their farewell today. It was pathetic, if it really was a farewell party!
Any ways, in one of the events, all 9.75 + and 6.00 - , students were called upon stage, and were asked to explain why they are better from each other? He he....interesting !! isn't it ? Both team had many points to prove that they are the best.
10 Pointers :

1. We are the one who truly represent BITSG , and it will be us who will make our college proud and not you people. (huh .. who cares !!)

2. We will get better job, and it will be us who will give you all a job ! (bullshit)

3. I support you 5 pointers, because of you only we are ten pointers. If there are no 5 pointers, there wont be any 10 pointers. (really spoken like a ten pointer )

5 Pointers :

1. We are the one who organises all the cultural fests, and any other activities/sports in our college, we are running this college (our presi and vice presi are one among them)

2. We are enjoying our life, tell me how many of you have heard of Dota and CS ?

3. We are having fun here in campus, and books (period) , we can get it outside as well, we will mug it up when needed.

4. And we can do MBA and stuffs and can get good jobs, but you all will miss the fun we are doing in campus.

What say ? Who's better ?

I will support 5 pointers ( my current cg 6.65). Just look at the ten pointers, I really feel pity for them! What are they doing to their lives ? I can't understand........

Being a 8 or even nine pointer is easy, but for being a 10 pointer , everyday you have to get up at 7 in the morning and attend each and every class ! No play, no romance, no fun, no gossip, no trips, just study study and study.

We are 'living' a life, and they are busy 'making' their so called successful life, and almost forgetting that the college days are the best days of our lives. You cannot enjoy with your wive/husband and kids, as much as you enjoy with your friends at this age.

We exist; and they simply don't !

PS : No offence to the ten pointers, I truly appreciate their sincerity and hard work !

PS Fuss

Lot of fuss is going around in the campus regarding the PS1 Stations. At the end of fourth semester, students have to do some fifty days training sort of thing in some company. It’s actually a 5 unit course.

The PS1 list is out and we have to fill our preference order and submit it before 10th march. Generally students prefer companies located in their home town, or some toppers opt out for the best company, and few even choose, keeping in mind that the place is cool enough to spend the summer there!

There are so many companies and places, that people often get confused in deciding priorities. In fact there are 210 PS1 Stations, and one has to fill all of them in the preference form. A tough job! Friends say something; seniors share their own experiences, relatives call you to their places and of course mom and dad wants you to be with them.

So the fuss is all about the priorities, and which PS Station is good? , and what is the cut off for good companies? , and all sort of questions like “my cg is 7.87, will I get Accenture , banglore ?”, “ yaar, my cg is too less, do you think I will get a PS in Delhi ?”

And I am no exception! I too am confused, and not able to stick to one decision. But anyways, it doesn’t matter much. People say, you do it in BARC (Mumbai) or you do it in some maternity hospital in Rampur, it’s the same thing. But of course self esteem and personal satisfaction also plays a role, isn’t it?

But students like me, with an average C.G. (cumulative grade) cannot expect BARC or Accenture or any other big companies. I only wish that I get a PS with my friend (similar C.G.) so that I don’t get bored and can enjoy my PS1.
