Hi, In the second case, around 150 students of BITS Pillani, Zuarinagar were on a picnic at Agonda beach, in Canacona, today afternoon and some of them were playing in knee-deep water, when suddenly one of the students, Puneet Gupta, who was a little further into the water got pulled by the currents, informed Canacona police inspector, Mr Raju Raut Desai.
Another student Praveen Kumar who was also in water nearby noticed Puneet struggling for help and tried to reach for his help. However after reaching halfway Praveen realized that he would not reach Puneet and tried to return back, but he too was pulled by currents.
Both are boys are second year students of BITS. While Puneet Gupta hails from Delhi, Praveen is said to be from Bangalore. The police managed to find Puneet, but he was declared dead, while Praveen is missing despite of hectic efforts to trace him by the local youth, Canacona fire brigade personnel and Coast Guard.
The police have a registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPC.
